Is Argentina right for you?
Twelve honest questions to ask yourself before you spend a dollar.
- Why do you want a second citizenship?If the answer is easier travel to Europe and the UK, Argentina is strong. If it is the United States, it is not the right tool.
- Does your country allow dual citizenship?Türkiye and Russia do; China, India and Singapore generally do not. This is the first thing we check.
- Can you document where your money came from?Argentina will ask. Property sales, business profits, salary and inheritance can all work if the paperwork exists.
- Can the money move from your own bank account?Funds must travel through regulated banks from an account in your name.
- Is your record clean everywhere you have lived?Police certificates are needed from each country of nationality and residence.
- Is there anything in the press about you?It can usually be explained, but only if disclosed from the start.
- Who in your family will apply?Spouse, children under 18 and unmarried children up to 25 without children can join.
- Is anyone close to 26?The age reference date has not yet been confirmed.
- Are you comfortable with a non-refundable payment?The USD 350,000 contribution is not an investment you get back.
- Can you wait for the rules to settle?Applications open in Q4 2026; some details are still unknown.
- Do you want to live in Europe one day?Spain's two-year rule for Ibero-American nationals could matter for you or your children.
- Have you compared the alternatives?Greece, Portugal, the Caribbean and Türkiye each suit different goals.
